Dear Friends,
I wish you and your loved ones a Shana Tova u’Metukah – a good and a sweet new year, filled with joy and blessing!
This week, as we approach Rosh HaShana, we read the Torah portion of Nitsavim. Parashat Nitsavim emphasizes the importance of accepting personal responsibility for our own decisions, both big and small.
True, there are things in life that are beyond our control. And, on 9-11 we are all too aware of those very real elements in our lives…But, Torah reminds us that we also have the opportunity to make many decisions throughout our lives. And our parsha [Torah portion] reminds us, in a very timely manner, that our decisions really do matter!
“”I call heaven and earth to witness…I have put before you life and death, blessing and curse. Choose life…” (Deuteronomy 30:19-20)
May our choices be for the good, and may we be blessed, as we enter the New Jewish Year of 5776!
Shabbat Shalom and Shana Tova!
